Hero: Roger DeCoster, The Goat, and everyone else
Age you began: 13 years old (34 years ago!
)
Biggest Accomplishment: Over coming some very serious disabilities to ride again... Bladder Cancer three
times... 4 severe concussions... My left knee joint needs a complete replacement...Very severe spinal stenosis... Total of
6 herniated disks in my lower back and neck... Very sever disc degeneration disease...Overcoming weighing 354lbs. to ride
again... Not riding since 1999... and not to forget Rheumatoid Arthritis... and some depression and associated things...
How you got started racing: I lived in Laurelville, Ohio in 1974. We was only 1/4 of a mile away from a national
motocross track at that time(they only held one national there). It was in Adelphi, Ohio. My dad used to chase motorcycle
riders up and down the alley behind our house with a ball bat..LOLOLOL.. My first bike was a 1966 Harley Bobcat 2 stroke,
175 cc.. I rode the spokes out of it. My first dirt bike was a 125cc, Combat Wombat Hodaka..LOLOl...
Sponsors:
Wife and Self
2008 Goals: Just to stay healthy and keep up with big boys a little better...LOLOLOL
To get in better shape and have a better quality of life because of the exercise..
Who is your biggest supporter:
My brother is my biggest supporter. My wife is my second biggest supporter. Her nerves just don't handle me riding
like she used too. She has seen me suffer a lot already!
Anything else you would like to add: I have always
loved to ride motocross bikes. I realize the dangers involved and accept the risk as I realize that life itself is dangerous...I
pray that I have a few more years of riding left. I used to be a pro-am rider in the 1980's. I have ridden very little
since my disabilities. If I can just keep improving to my ability I will be very satisfied!
Special thanks go to: Rick and Rachel at Beaver Junction for welcoming motocross in this area like they have... It has helped my life tremendously...
I thank the Lord for allowing us all another day to breath and enjoy what he has allowed us to have. Without him we all are
nothing. Thanks to all the riders and wonderful understanding and nice people you have around you at your track.. Thanks ...
Sorry for no photos right now. I just wanted to write this and let you know a little about me.
